Green tea is enjoyed day and night in Portuguese culture, as are desserts. This is most especially true in the Azores which has the only green tea grown in all of Europe, due to the unique climate. We are going to give you guys a great recipe for Azorean Green Tea Pudding. This combination is a match made in heaven as the green tea leaves give the pudding a unique flavor. This recipe is a unique Azorean variation on the dish and has been enjoyed in my family for many generations. This recipe is simple and straightforward, just make sure to find some quality green tea leaves, preferably Portuguese. Enjoy!
*Serves 2*
Ingredients:
1.5 tablespoons Azorean green tea leaves (You might be able to find these locally, if not you can always get some here on Amazon)
2 grams gelatin powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup milk
Directions:
1) Place the water and green tea leaves in a blender and mix it until it reaches a smooth and even consistency.
2) Now boil the mixture in a saucepan. Once it is boiling turn off the heat and add the sugar, milk, gelatin powder, and stir it for about 30 seconds.
3) Pour the mixture into serving bowls and place in the refrigerator to chill.
4) Once solidified and chilled, remove from the refrigerator and serve. Enjoy!
Can you explain how to make the tea with the boiling milk?
Fixed, hope that helps.
Thanks so much! Can’t wait to try this!
About how many servings does this make? Thanks.
It should make enough for a decently sized baking mold. Should serve about 2-3.
