Shrimp Mozambique is a very traditional and unique dish stemming from Portuguese, Angolan, and Mozambique history. This dish is unique for combining its spicy piri piri kick with some awesome seafood shrimp. Our version makes this dish super simple and easy to make without any fuss, and is absolutely awesome and a bit spicy for those who like that kind of thing. Ingredients:
1 lbs. Shrimp
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup African Piri Piri Sauce (if you don’t know where to buy it you can make it homemade with this recipe)
1/2 Lemon
1/2 cup rice or 2 sliced potatoes to fry
Directions:
1) In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with about 1/4 cup of the sauce, save the remaining sauce. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
2) Being sauting the shrimp and sauce in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the rest of the piri piri sauce until well cooked for about 10-12 minutes.
3) Serve with either some boiled rice or batatas fritas “french fries” to fully enjoy all the sauce. Also serve with a lemon half for extra flavor.
