Portuguese Black Pudding (Morcela)

Morcela, or Portuguese Black Pudding, is probably the most unique thing to eat in Portuguese cooking. But let me tell you, if you can brave the initial hesitance of eating blood pudding, you will love it as much as all the Portuguese do. Morcela is blood sausage at its finest, unbelievably rich and flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. It is typically seen being eaten on almost every Portuguese dinner table in a cozido or at any event, it is that good. It is actually very healthy to eat as it is full of iron. Cat’s Tongue Cookies (Língua de Gato)

Língua de Gato, or Cat’s Tongue Cookies, are delicious little Portuguese style treats. They are very popular and unique little cookies that can be seen eaten all over. Pretty simple to make with easy to find ingredients. It is perfect to either serve with some tea as a snack or some ice cream as a dessert!

Orange Flan (Pudim de Laranja)

Flans are one of the best aspects of Portuguese dessert making. Pudim de Laranja, or Orange Flan is one of my favorite variations on Portuguese flans. The wonderful smooth texture of the flan really complements the orange citrus flavor well, and it is definitely one of my favorites. Portuguese Beef Croquettes (Croquetes de Carne)

Croquettes are one of the most popular and widely known Portuguese food dishes. They are made with just about any type of meat and are perfect on their own or as a side dish. The most traditional of these croquettes are Croquettes de Carne, or Portuguese beef croquettes. These beef & chourico cakes are shaped as a cylinder and are surrounded with a crunchy golden fried dough shell. Portuguese Milk Tea (Chá com Leite)

Chá, or tea in Portuguese, is typically the drink of choice in Portugal, and has been since it was first introduced to Portuguese priests and merchants in China during the 16th century. Portuguese Milk Tea is a rather popular and traditional way of enjoying the tea with some extra flavor and scent.
