Simple & Easy Portuguese Bread Pudding (Barriga de Freira)

This is a simple & easy to make delicious Portuguese bread pudding, known as Barriga de Freira. Barriga de Freira, which hilariously means “a Nun’s belly”, is a delicious Portuguese take on bread pudding. Using simple ingredients as always in combination with Massa Sovada, this dish is a Portuguese dessert staple coming from the region of Alentejo. We are going to give you guys a great recipe for Azorean Green Tea Pudding. This combination is a match made in heaven as the green tea leaves give the pudding a unique flavor. This recipe is a unique Azorean variation on the dish and has been enjoyed in my family for many generations. Polvo Guisado (Boiled Octopus)

This is a simple and easy way to make Portuguese Polvo Guisado, or boiled octopus. This is one of the more unique and traditional dishes in Portuguese cuisine, and in my opinion one of the most interesting and delicious dishes Portuguese cuisine has to offer. The combination of flavors between the octopus and the red wine allow for a succulent taste which can only be described by experiencing it for yourself. While the ingredients are very simple the preparation is of utmost importance in making this dish well, so closely follow the directions.
