Our recipe of the day is a delicious and unique Portuguese duck dish, Pato Frito com Arroz. This dish is quite an exciting variation on Portuguese traditional cuisine but in my opinion, it is one of the most delicious dishes we have to offer. The combination of the texture and richness of the duck meat with the bursting flavor of the garlic and soy sauce makes for a truly unique taste and a wonderful dish that will be sure to impress. Ingredients:
*Makes 4 Servings*
1 cup duck meat, sliced into pieces
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 cups cooked long-grain rice
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
1) Cook the duck pieces in a wok or large skillet over medium heat until the skin is crispy, about 10 minutes.
2) Increase heat to medium-high, and stir in the soy sauce, olive oil, and chopped garlic cloves.
3) Cook and stir until the meats are heated through, about 5 minutes.
4) Begin boiling rice in a separate pan while the duck is cooking.
5) Toss and stir the wok or large skillet until the duck is browned to a good color.
6) Once ready place the finished rice on a platter and the duck on top.
7) Season to taste with salt and pepper before serving, and enjoy!
