Polvo de Cebolada, or Portuguese Octopus in Onion sauce, is a wonderful summer dish. It is full of flavor because of the richness of the tomatoe sauce. It can be serve as a salad or an appetizer on a summer afternoon accompanied by a glass of white wine.
Ingredients:
1 octopus
6 sliced onions
6 sliced tomatoes
5 chopped garlic cloves
l/2 cup olive oil
1 chopped hot pepper
Pinch of salt
Directions:
1) Cook octopus in water until tender.
2) Cut cooked octopus in pieces as if you were preparing it for a salad.
3) In a saucepan put olive oil, onions, tomatoes, pepper, and garlic and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
4) Put sauce over octopus and serve.
