Roupa Velha has traditionally been a way to mix various unused ingredients to make a meal in the past. This recipe allows for quite a bit of improvisation and can combine many great components into a wonderfully delicious “roupa velha” dish. Try our original recipe, and add other types of seafood, fish, or any other leftovers you might have to make a simple and delicious dish with much fuss.
Ingredients:
– 2 pieces soaked cod
– 2 lbs. potatoes
– 3 leaves of kale
– 4 Eggs
– 6 tablespoons olive oil
– 4 cloves garlic
Directions:
1) Flay the cod into slices and cut the potatoes into small pieces along with the kale and eggs.
2) Place the cod, potatoes, kale, and eggs in a pot on the stove on medium for about 10-15 minutes.
2) Now heat the olive oil in a pan with the garlic cloves chopped and let them become brown.
3) Strain the water out of the pot, take the shells off the eggs, and place these ingredients into the pan and let it heat slowly, stirring occasionally.
4) Once it is ready, serve immediately and Enjoy!
