Portuguese Tuna and Sweet Potatoes combines the hearty components of the roasted Sweet Potato along with the unbelievable flavor of fresh Albacore tuna lightly sauteed on a saucepan. This delicious dish is a very popular and traditional Portuguese style eat. It is very simple and easy to make like most of our recipes, but is certainly not lacking in flavor, scent, or the great look of the dish. Ingredients:
1 Albacore tuna steak
3 cloves chopped garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon thyme
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 large Sweet Potato
Directions:
1) Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit to roast the sweet potato.
2) Saute the albacore tuna in a saucepan with the chopped garlic and olive oil for about 3 minutes on each side.
2) While it is cooking, bake the Sweet Potato in the oven on 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes.
3) Once the tuna is done, place on a plate and serve the chopped garlic sauce on top of the tuna.
4) Once the roasted sweet potato is done cut it up and place it on the dish.
5) Decorate the dish with the thyme, serve and enjoy!
*If you like a bit more spice in this dish, add a tablespoon of fresh “pimenta moida” or Portuguese crushed pepper to the saucepan when you begin cooking it*
