This recipe is a super simple and easy way to make a delicious Portuguese dessert. It is the Azorean version of Pudim de Bananas, which unlike the usual flan version, is a unique variation from the continental which is much easier to make and probably even more delicious. Ingredients:
6 bananas
2 sherry glasses Red Port
1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
2 tablespoons sugar
6 egg whites
Directions:
1) Slice the bananas in half lengthwise and place in an ovenproof dish.
2) Sprinkle with sugar and add 2 sherry glasses of Port.
3) Beat egg whites until fluffy and with a metal spoon add in the sugar and vanilla essence.
4) Cover bananas with this mixture and bake in the oven at 350 degrees, for approximately 20 minutes.
5) Serve immediately, enjoy!
