Atum à Brás is Portuguese Tuna à la Brás, a delicious creamy tuna and egg dish similar to Bacalhau à Brás which uses canned tuna, eggs, and french fries along with some vegetables in a healthy and easy to make dish. This is a unique Portuguese dish that combines very simple ingredients in a flavorful dish, perfect for cooking without much fuss.
2 cans of tuna
1 onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup olives
1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
3 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/2 lbs. French fries, chopped thinly
6 eggs, beaten
1) In a large frying pan, add the olive oil with finely chopped onion and garlic and cook on medium heat until they are slightly browned.
2) Now add the canned tuna, chopped pepper, and french fries and season with salt and pepper to taste.
3) Add the beaten eggs and heavy cream to the pan and continue cooking until the eggs are cooked well but not too much, so that the dish remains creamy. Stir it well as it cooks.
4) Once the egg has cooked, cover with the parsley and olives and stir it well. Serve.
